The Original Red Onion has been a favorite for locals craving Sonoran-style Mexican food since 1967. Grab a plate of enchiladas poblanos and a bowl of albondigas soup, and then finish your meal with sopapillas and deep-fried ice cream. For a fast-casual lunch, swing by the Rolling Hills Country Club clubhouse and stay for 18 holes of golf on their pristine greens. 

The Palos Verdes Farmers Market is held in Rolling Hills Estates on Sundays all year long. This market is the area’s go-to destination for locally grown farm-fresh produce and artisanal goods. The expansive Peninsula Center Library operates in Rolling Hills Estates as a branch of the Palos Verdes Library District. 

The standard for education in Rolling Hills Estates is extraordinarily high, so families with children will be able to take advantage of the nationally high ranking school system. Rolling Hills Country Day School is a private institution that caters to students grades kindergarten through eighth grade. For high school, students can attend Peninsula High School, a New American and Blue Ribbon award-winning public school.
